These things are needed to prepare for evaluation:

  • Temporal Bone CT (sagittal and coronal planes)with slice thickness less than 1mm, preferably 0.65mm, recorded on to optical disc.

  • Pure tone audiometry + SRT (Speech Reception Threshold) + SDS (Speech Discrimination Score)

  • Photos of the children, if not in attendance.

The conference will begin with a morning lecture series led by Dr. Bradley Kesser, covering a wide range of topics related to the treatment of Atresia and Microtia Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Causes of Atresia and Microtia

  • Audiological testing

  • Child development and auditory processing

  • The evaluation process

  • Atresia repair

  • Outer ear reconstruction, including a detailed overview of the Medpor technique and Microtia reapir methods used throughout the United States

  • The latest research developments and advancements in treatment.

We encourage both post- operative patietns and individuals who have not yet undergone surgery to attend these conferences, as ongoing advancements in the field continue to provide valuable new information and insughts.

Follwing the lectures, each family will have the opportunity to meet individually with Dr. Bradley Kesser for a private 30-minute consultation. During this appointment, each patient’s specific case will be reviewed, and personalized recommendations will be provided.
